Today CreakyJoints Australia officially launched the inaugural edition of Raising the Voice of Patients: A Patient’s Guide to Living with Rheumatoid Arthritis in Australia.
This is the first in our planned series of patient guidelines for a range of arthritic conditions. This exciting new resource is full of helpful information and tips for everyone with RA and those involved in their care. It has been written by patients for patients. We know what it’s like to live with arthritis because we live with it ourselves.
When you have rheumatoid arthritis, there are so many questions that come up at every stage of your journey.
Early on, you want to know what RA is and what it means for you and your future. Later on, it’s more about treatments and which ones are right for you. You might also want to know how to navigate the Australian healthcare system or how others deal with talking to their family and friends about their condition.
That’s all way too much to cover in your doctors’ appointments and your doctors may not have all the information you need anyway. What you’d really like is a practical RA handbook that you can refer to when you need to. Wouldn’t it be great if someone created a resource like this for Australian’s with RA?
That is exactly what our team at CreakyJoints Australia did.
We did extensive research about living with rheumatoid arthritis and the treatments available in Australia, included patient quotes and tips, then got everything checked by leading Australian rheumatologists and put it all together in one easy-to-read handbook.
Much of the information in this Patient Guideline for Rheumatoid Arthritis may also help people with other forms of arthritis and those living in other countries.
We hope we’ve helped to make your journey easier and we wish you well.
