Research Participation Opportunity

The Steroid PRO research study baseline survey is a global collaborative project to measure patient perspectives of using steroids for rheumatic diseases. The study is being led by the University of the West of England, Bristol (UWE Bristol) with support from arthritis researchers and organisations across the UK, US and Australia.

The survey is for patients from these countries who have rheumatic conditions and are being treated with steroids. It will help the research team develop a Patient Reported Outcome (PRO) Measure (a type of questionnaire). The survey is testing a questionnaire that is in development (the Steroid PRO).

What You Can Do to Help

The survey is open to people over 18 who live in the nominated countries and who are currently being treated with steroids (such as prednisolone or prednisone) for a rheumatic condition.

Taking part in this study is voluntary. Your part in the study, should you decide to take part, is only to complete the online survey, which asks about your experience of taking steroids.

The survey should take you around 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Your responses will be confidential.

At the end of this survey (the Baseline Survey) you will be asked if you are willing to complete part of the questionnaire again after 3 to 5 days (the Follow-up Survey). This is entirely optional.
